Adventure vacation on the
Nautilus Two –
for divers and non-divers
On the Nautilus Two, you can look forward to unforgettable diving experiences. Our experienced dive guides know the best dive sites in the Maldives like the back of their hand and will accompany you as you explore the impressive underwater world.
From manta rays and whale sharks to colorful coral reefs, sunken shipwrecks, and countless shark encounters—
, the Maldives has something to offer every diver.
The Nautilus Two is also an excellent destination for vacationers who don't want to dive but still want to spend an unforgettable vacation in the Maldivian paradise. The ship offers many activities, including snorkeling, stand-up paddle boarding, relaxing on the sun deck, island exploration, BBQ evenings, and fishing trips. The Nautilus Two is perfect for exploring the beauty of the Maldives, and the luxurious amenities on board ensure an unforgettable stay.
Equipped with the "ENOS" positioning system
The Nautilus Two is one of the few liveaboard vessels in the Maldives equipped with theENOS emergency call and location system, which is indispensable for divers.
Since strong currents are common in the Maldives, ENOS ensures that divers are no longer at risk of being swept away and lost to the boat.
While preparing their equipment , each diver receives their own ENOS transmitter, which is only 20 cm long and weighs just 165 grams including batteries. Thanks to its compact size and low weight, it has no impact on buoyancy.
With the help of its bag, it can be easily attached to diving equipment and undoubtedly gives every diver an even greater sense of security.

The features of the Nautilus Two
SUN DECK
The forecastle
On the foredeck below the sun deck, you will find comfortable lounge furniture for relaxing. This is an extremely popular spot, as the shaded area and the usually light breeze provide pleasant cooling.
A little further forward, the whirlpool invites you to take a relaxing dip, during which we will of course be happy to serve you cool drinks.
The rear
Another highlight of the Nautilus Two is the covered stern of the ship. This is approximately 50m² in size and offers a cozy relaxation area for lingering outdoors, even when it rains.
Thanks to its special design, the stern with freshwater shower offers easy access for relaxed swimming in the beautiful lagoons of the Maldives or for impressive snorkeling tours with majestic manta rays. It is also a comfortable spot for those who want to try their luck at fishing.
The Salon
Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served in the spacious salon of the Nautilus Two. A 5-meter-long fishing dhoni divides the restaurant and lounge areas and also serves as a buffet for presenting the delicious dishes.
At our extremely popular and well-stocked Nautilus Bar, our bartender will be happy to mix refreshing cocktails of your choice. We offer wonderfully cool draft beer and a large selection of spirits, cocktails, white and red wines, and soft drinks.
Hot tea and coffee, as well as fresh water and fruit juice, are available free of charge 24 hours a day. In between, we are happy to serve small snacks and sandwiches to recharge your batteries after eventful dives.
The sun deck
The spacious sun deck, measuring almost 400 m², offers comfortable sun loungers and two large lounge areas. It is equipped with a large, protective sun sail, so that every guest can find a shady spot if they wish.
Here you can find peace and relaxation after your dives and enjoy a unique view of the Maldivian islands and the beautiful sunrise and sunset.
MAIN DECK
The cabins
UNDERDECK
Our 12 spacious and comfortable guest cabins, which were renovated in summer 2022 and given a completely new, friendly design, can accommodate up to 24 divers in luxury during their safari.
They are more spacious than any other safari ship in the Maldives. The cabins, which average 20m² in size, feature a bathroom with toilet, a desk with stool and mirror, and a wardrobe.
Nine of our cabins are equipped with both a king-size double bed and a king-size single bed and are ideal for twin occupancy, even if you don't know each other yet.
Three of our cabins—two on the lower deck and one on the main deck—have a king-size double bed for double occupancy.
The cabins have ample storage space, so suitcases and diving bags can be easily stowed under the beds.
The air conditioning can be regulated separately in each cabin. If you do not wish to use the air conditioning, large roof hatches and side hatches provide sufficient ventilation and cooling.
distribution
Since we want to ensure that you feel 100% comfortable on our shared diving safari, we have built the cabins in a unique size of up to 20m².
The cabins are generally allocated for double occupancy, but you are welcome to request cabins for single occupancy at an additional cost. 10 cabins are located on the lower deck and 2 cabins are located on the main deck.
All cabins have a bathroom measuring approx. 6m² with a side window. Each bathroom is equipped with a large washbasin, mirror, shower cubicle, and toilet. One hand towel and one bath towel are provided per guest, which we will be happy to replace for you on request. There is ample storage space for your books, camera equipment, etc.

Questions about the diving safari aboard the Nautilus Two in the Maldives
A minimum of 40 dives of relevant diving experience is required. Our dive guide is authorized to prevent a guest from participating in a dive if they are not capable of meeting the diving requirements for the upcoming dive or are under the influence of alcohol. Please note that this dive is non-refundable.
Depending on your arrival time in Malé, a check dive will be offered in the early afternoon of the same day if you arrive in the morning (depending on the transfer situation) so that you can familiarize yourself with your equipment again.
If you arrive at noon or in the afternoon, the check dive on the day of arrival is omitted and would in this case be the first regular dive of the following day.
In addition to the option of a check dive on the first day (depending on your arrival time), 2-3 dives are offered daily from the second day onwards. For longer crossings between the atolls, we reserve the right to replace the midday dive with a night dive, conditions permitting. The final decision is made by the captain.
The last dive takes place without exception on the day BEFORE departure in the early morning.
Weather permitting, we include a night dive in all our safaris and will gladly provide you with one of our lamps free of charge if you do not have your own.
The Maldives offers a wide variety of dive sites, such as:
Drift dives along reef edges and channels, dives along a reef or steep wall, wreck dives, colorful thilas/pinnacles—there is something for every diver's heart.
All of our dive sites are accessed by the dive dhoni, which accompanies the Nautilus Two throughout the safari, and are located between 5 and 20 minutes away, depending on the dive site.
This means you always have enough time to prepare your diving equipment for the dive without having to wait too long.
If required and upon request, various diving courses can be taken. As we do not have an instructor on board for every tour, we would need to organize this separately for you upon request and therefore ask for the relevant information when you make your booking enquiry.
12-liter tanks with DIN or INT connections are available. This means you don't need to bring an adapter. Lead weights and weight belts are also on board, but you will need to bring the rest of your diving equipment with you (including your dive computer).
14-liter tanks are available in limited quantities upon request and advance order (for high air consumption) with DIN or INT connections. Please let us know in advance if you require this option.
Depending on how sensitive you are to the cold, we recommend diving in a 3mm or 5mm wetsuit. A shorty wetsuit is also possible, but due to the risk of jellyfish stings, we recommend a long wetsuit.
We recommend that you bring your own familiar equipment with you. If necessary, it is of course possible to hire equipment for a fee. Please let us know when booking, stating the sizes you require, so that we can organize the equipment for you in good time.
The costs depend on the equipment you require. We will be happy to provide you with further information.
Snorkelers are very welcome on board. Depending on local conditions, you can accompany the divers on the diving dhoni. If the dive site is not suitable for snorkeling (e.g., because it is too deep or there is too much current), snorkelers will be taken to a nearby reef in a dinghy (small dinghy).
Upon request, we can provide you with a local snorkeling guide. We recommend that you bring your own snorkeling equipment.
This is no problem at all and is standard practice for us, as our spacious 20 m² cabins for twin occupancy are equipped with both a king-size double bed and a king-size single bed. For an additional charge, you can also book our cabins for single occupancy.
We only assign our twin cabins to guests of the same gender.
The buddy teams are coordinated after the check dive in consultation between the dive guides and the guests. In any case, it is also possible to complete all dives directly with the dive guide as your buddy.
The Nautilus Two operates various safaris throughout the year.
The peak season in the Maldives is from November to April. The months from May to October are considered the off-season, but global climate change has also changed the situation in the Maldives, meaning that the weather and visibility in the "off-season" can now sometimes be compared to those in the peak season.
The dive sites in the Maldives are located between 5 meters (reef top) and 30 meters. The maximum legally permitted diving depth in the Maldives is 30 meters.
A current hook is not mandatory but recommended, as currents in the Maldives can be very strong depending on the season.
If you have your own diving lamp, we recommend that you bring it with you. As every diver knows, a lamp is useful even at shallow depths (overhangs, caves, etc.).
If you would like to rent a diving lamp for your stay, this is possible for a fee.
In addition to your diving or snorkeling equipment and swimwear, we also recommend bringing a light beach towel, a headband to protect your ears, sunscreen, and, if necessary, longer, light clothing for the evening. If you want to sleep on deck under the stars, we recommend bringing a light sleeping bag.
We recommend diving with Nitrox in the Maldives, for which a Nitrox certificate is required.
Our membrane system produces Nitrox 1 EAN 32 (+/- 2%). It is possible to book a Nitrox package for the tour in advance (€15/night). If the fills are ordered individually on board, there is a charge of €6 (+ 10% service charge + 16% TGST tax) per dive.
There is a decompression chamber under medical supervision on the islands of Bandos and Kuramathi.
Public and private hospitals are located in Malé and Hulhumalé.
We offer liveaboard diving trips of varying lengths between 7 nights and 12 nights, depending on the season and itinerary.
Our one-way tours from January to March, which run from Malé to Gan or back from Gan to Malé, last 12 nights. Depending on the international flight booked, one domestic flight may be required for each route.
Depending on the season and routing, currents in the Maldives can vary greatly. During our routes in the months of May to September/October, currents are generally expected to be weaker, as diving here is more focused on thilas than channels.
During the months of November to April, the focus of the dives is more on channel dives, where stronger currents can sometimes occur.
Strong currents are to be expected, especially on our one-way tours in the south of the Maldives due to the atoll location, which is why these tours are only suitable for experienced divers.
All dives are conducted from our dive dhoni. The diving equipment remains on the dhoni throughout the safari, and jackets and regulators can remain attached to the tank for the entire tour. Each diver has their own basket under their seat for the rest of their equipment.
The Nautilus Two is one of the few safari boats in the Maldives equipped with the ENOS emergency call and location system, which is indispensable for divers.
During the first two days, each diver will receive their own RADIO/GPS transmitter, which must be attached to two places on the diving equipment to prevent loss. If the transmitter is lost, we will unfortunately have to charge you for the cost. You will receive detailed instructions on how to use it on the ship.
In your own interest, we strongly recommend undergoing a medical examination for diving (every two years for those under 40, every year for those over 40) and taking out diving insurance with appropriate coverage.
General questions about the Nautilus Two
Depending on your arrival time, one of our crew members will meet you in the arrivals area after baggage claim and accompany you to the dive dhoni, which will take you directly to Nautilus Two.
We ask for your understanding that there may be short waiting times or, if necessary, several transfers will be carried out.
To ensure a smooth and timely departure of the Nautilus Two, arrival in Malé should be no later than noon—please consult us for arrivals later than 1:00 p.m.
Once you arrive on board the Nautilus Two, we will welcome you with a cool welcome drink and show you our mandatory safety and boat briefing video.
Afterwards, we will ask you to fill out our guest registration card and liability waiver.
On the last evening of the safari, our crew will inform you of your respective transfer times. This is normally 4 hours before departure, as delays may occur due to high traffic at Malé Airport.
If your check-out is after 12:00 p.m. due to your departure time, we offer you the option of booking a "late check-out." Stay on board with full meals and keep your cabin until 8:00 p.m. at the latest for an additional charge of EUR 80 per person, including extra transfer.
(only possible with advance booking)
Our cabins are 20m² in size and were renovated in summer 2022.
They are equipped with a private bathroom with toilet, a desk with stool and mirror, a wardrobe, and ample storage space, so that suitcases and diving bags can be easily stowed under the beds.
The air conditioning can be regulated separately in each cabin. If you do not wish to use the air conditioning, large roof hatches and side hatches provide sufficient ventilation and cooling.
As our salon has windows that can be opened throughout, allowing a pleasant breeze to flow through, it is not air-conditioned. All of our cabins have individually adjustable air conditioning.
A water dispenser is available 24 hours a day. This water comes from our two desalination plants on board, which produce 10 tons of fresh/drinking water every day. We also carry an additional daily tank of 8 tons. Nevertheless, please use water sparingly.
The Nautilus Two has two cabins on the upper deck. One is equipped with a king-size double bed, the other with a king-size double bed and a king-size single bed.
We provide you with a bath towel for the cabin (+ hand towel) as well as a bath towel for sunbathing. Even though we have sufficient bath towels on board, we recommend that you bring your own lightweight bath towel if necessary, as we have limited opportunities to do laundry during a safari.
We offer our guests free WiFi for messaging and emails. You can obtain the access code from our salon manager. Please note that there may be no or only sporadic reception between the atolls/islands. There is no entitlement to a refund in the event of poor functionality.
If you require a larger data allowance, e.g. for streaming, you can purchase local SIM cards immediately upon arrival at Malé Airport.
Full board is provided on board in the form of a buffet. Please ensure you drink sufficient water in the Maldives. Our chef always strives to prepare a variety of dishes for you in his small kitchen. Please bear in mind that almost all food, except seafood, fish, and coconut products, has to be imported and carried on board. Please inform us of any food intolerances before your arrival.
220 volts – 24 hours. No adapter is required for Austrian/German plugs (two-pin). There are also some British (three-pin) plugs available on board. There is also a large charging station in the saloon. For safety reasons, please do not charge your devices in your cabin – fire hazard!
There are a total of three emergency kits on board: two directly on the ship and one on the dive dhoni. There are also two defibrillators available—one in the saloon and one on the dive dhoni.
In addition, the Nautilus Two has two 50-liter oxygen tanks with regulator units—one in cabin 213 and one on the dive dhoni.
Additional emergency numbers and an emergency plan are posted in the salon.
We urge you NOT to jump into the water while the engines are running. Please check with the captain or crew to make sure it is safe to swim before entering the water (currents).
Please do not enter the salon while still wet (risk of slipping!). We are happy to provide towels. However, as we only have a limited number available, we also recommend that you bring your own bath towel.
The crew will be happy to fill it with saltwater for you on request. As the ship is constantly in motion, the whirlpool cannot remain filled permanently and must be emptied from time to time.
On board and on the islands, the preferred method of payment is foreign currency such as euros or US dollars. Credit cards are also accepted on board.
Tips are generally included in the safari price. If you are particularly satisfied with the crew and their service, our crew will of course be delighted if you wish to reward them with an additional tip. At the end of your trip, you will find an envelope in your cabin in which you can place any additional tips for the crew, which will then be distributed fairly among all crew members. Thank you very much!
